We are so blessed to live across a walking path that leads to a forest preserve...Thanks to all the tax payers ;-) . I wish to take more advantage of this gift and privileged that I take for granted everyday. Another spring and another summer! New beginnings and a clean slate! My wife and I will try again this year to have a healthier tomorrow. Here's to walking!

I love to walk! It is the exercise I most enjoy because you get to be outside, see new places (or revisit old ones) and you can do it with family or friends. My friends and I use it as a way to catch up.

I would love to win a pedometer! I think it would be a great start to making sure that I am getting enough steps in each day without having to consciously think about it. Plus, walking is great low-stress exercise that will help prevent osteoporosis in me when I am a little older. Osteoporosis is common for women in my family and I want to do everything I can to help protect myself - I know walking more can be a part of the solution! Thank you so much for the generous giveaway!

One of my favorite things about Chicago summers is walking from the my office in the loop to my Wrigleyville home after a long day of work. Time to decompress while checking out different routes, city streets, beaches and people. My friends and I also made a bet this year (thanks to ESPN1000 radio for the idea) that the fans of the Chicago baseball team with the least wins at the end of the season have to walk from their team's stadium to the stadium of their crosstown foe. How many steps is that?

Talk about the best thing almost anyone can do for their health. I started walking 1/4 of a block, then 1/2 block, then kept it up. Today, i'm up to 2 miles in a little over 30 minutes. Its the best 30 minutes of everyday. My friend had her hip replaced and after three weeks she is back at it. Its free, requires no special equipment or training and if you dress properly, you can do it everyday. Walking is the better than running or jogging. Once you start, you'll never look back!

The hardest thing about moving to the suburbs was turning walking into exercise instead of transportation. Walking is one of my favorite activities...I find it so calming and refreshing. When I live in the city I would walk all day long with my baby in a pouch- just getting about our business. Since we have made the move to the suburbs, I do get in walks to the park and such, but outside of that I have to make special trips to "go walking".

I never thought that walking was a real way to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but ever since I got rid of my car and started walking to work and most other places I've noticed a great difference in the way my body feels! Sounds like a great event, good luck everyone!
