On October 20, 2010 some of the most talented bartenders from around Chicago gathered for the Effen Vodka, Art of Design event at the Victor Hotel. Guests nibbled on tasty bites and got to try extremely delicious Effen cocktails and judge which one was the best. Moreover, artist Ellen Gradman was there to create very beautiful art inspired by Effen vodka. A well deserved win went to craftsmen, Danny Rossi from VLIVE and Shawn Hazen from Roscoe’s Tavern. I wanted to share the recipe with you so you too can enjoy a delicious Effen cocktail! I personally love Watermelon so this was my choice all along! What do you like in your Effen?

2 OZ. EFFEN® BLACK CHERRY VODKA
3 2” CHUNKS OF WATERMELON
3 BASIL LEAVES
1 OZ. SIMPLE SYRUP
JUICE FROM ½ A SMALL LEMON
SLICE ½ A CUCUMBER INTO SMALL PIECES AND MUDDLE WITH EFFEN® BLACK CHERRY VODKA IN A SHAKER. ADD IN CHUNKS OF WATERMELON, 3 BASIL LEAVES RIPPED IN HALF (TO RELEASE FLAVOR), SIMPLE SYRUP, LEMON JUICE AND ICE. SHAKE AND SERVE UP WITH A CUCUMBER SLICE GARNISH.
